What the figures are

Every consumption figure on RealFuelConsumption is a fleet average we calculated from monitoring data published by the European Environment Agency. Carmakers and national authorities report that data from the fuel meters of cars in use. A figure here describes how a group of identical cars has been driven so far. It does not predict what one particular car, or your own driving, will use.

Fuel and charging costs multiply those averages by average pump or household prices and by a distance you pick. Treat them as an order of magnitude, not a quote. The data can contain errors and is updated once a year, so check important figures before you rely on them for buying, selling or any financial or legal matter.

Carmaker and model names appear only so that you can find a vehicle. RealFuelConsumption has no link with the European Environment Agency, the European Commission, Eurostat, any carmaker or any dealer, and none of them has reviewed or approved this site.
