Editorial policy
- Official sources only. Consumption figures come from the European Environment Agency’s real-world monitoring data; prices from the European Commission and Eurostat. We do not use owner-submitted figures, test drives or manufacturer marketing.
- Facts, not verdicts. We report averages, spreads and differences. We do not call a car good or bad, and a gap between official and real consumption is described as a difference, not as wrongdoing.
- Every number has a source. Each page links to the dataset it comes from, and our methodology explains every calculation.
- No paid placement. Advertising is labelled and kept apart from the data. Advertisers cannot influence rankings or figures.
- Corrections. If a car is grouped under the wrong name or a figure looks wrong, tell us. We check it against the source data and fix grouping errors in the next update.
